Dr. Md. Ibrahim H. Mondal is a Professor and Ex-Chairman in the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He obtained his MSc in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh in 1986. He joined as a lecturer in the same Department in 1990 and his teaching and research are continuing till now. He obtained his PhD degree from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan in 1997.

Dr Mondal was a Commonwealth Visiting Scholar at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in the United Kingdom during 2003-04, a Visiting Professor at the Hokkaido University in Japan during 2006-07, and a Visiting Scientist at the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia during 2009-10.

He has been awarded the UGC Gold Medal, Dr. M.A. Wazed Miah International Gold Medal Award, Dean’s award (two times) as a best researcher, Dean’s award for book publication in Elsevier, the best researcher award (Hyderabad, India) and an International Conference “ICRPSET 2024” Rajshahi, “Outstanding Research Achievement” Award.

He has been included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists. He supervised research works of over 81 M.Sc., 10 Ph.D. and one M. Phil. students. He published over two hundred and seventy-five research articles, book chapters and proceedings in the international Journal and publishers. He is an author, co-author and editor of seventeen books published internationally on Polymers and textiles from Elsevier (UK), Springer (Switzerland), Nova (USA) and Lambert (Germany).  He completed seventeen research projects funded by UGC, MoST, MoE and Rajshahi University. Biopolymers, biocomposites, cellulose and its derivatives, superabsorbent hydrogels, biomaterials, nanomaterials, microbial cellulose, bioactive and functional textiles, biodegradable plastics, microplastics and wet processing of textiles are his research areas.

 

 
 
 
 
Mohammad Mohiuddin

Assistant Professor

Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin is an Assistant Professor in the School of Packaging at Michigan State University (MSU), USA. His academic and research expertise spans polymeric packaging materials, multilayer barrier films, packaging mass transfer, product–package interactions, and sustainable and smart packaging solutions. His work integrates experimental characterization with computational modeling to address food safety, environmental sustainability, and advanced functional packaging applications.

Dr. Mohiuddin is actively involved in graduate and undergraduate teaching, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary research collaborations with academia and industry. He is committed to capacity building in packaging education and is particularly interested in supporting the development of structured packaging programs, trained educators, and globally aligned curricula in developing countries. As a member of the Bangladesh Institute of Packaging (BIP) Advisory Council, he provides strategic academic guidance and mentorship to support long-term growth of packaging education and professional training in Bangladesh.
